Sanderson Group Contracted - Master Planning / Design Development / Project Management

'Emerald Lakes' Resort Development is an interactive journey of Islamic monuments of the world. It is an entertainment and educational resort being constructed in Sepang, a community approximately 1 hours drive from the centre of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's major city.

The Sanderson Group was asked to provide the initial conceptual designs for the project and following the client's approval of those has now been engaged to complete the final design drawings, prior to the commencement of construction in 2003.

The initial scope involves the design of a site concept plan for themed areas which includes an aquatic adventure park, a North African seaport area, "Lagoons" convention centre and hotel, Islamic gardens of the world, an adventure theme park, driver education centre with 6 circuits, wetlands and environmental reserves, and Islamic architectural images from around the world.

It also takes into account the provision for both public and official infrastructures such as offices and technical services buildings, a self contained nursery and an Islamic wedding centre.

As well as serviced apartments the hotel features self contained cottages, constructed to resemble buildings of old Islamic times, with more modern interiors and a world class convention centre, catering for groups from all over the world. Some of the Islamic architectural buildings will include images of The Great Mosque, Agadez, Niger and Aleppo Citadel, Syria.
