TELECOMMUNICATION ANTENNA SHROUDS - AUSTRALIA

BRENDALE WATER TOWER SHROUDS - Brisbane, QLD, AUSTRALIA

The Brendale Water Tower situated in Eatons Hill Brisbane is an existing structure erected in 1983 to serve the local community with their water requirements. In recent years it has been utilised as a staging terminus for the installation of various carriers' directional antennas for their mobile telephone networks.

The Sanderson Group was approached to design a shroud to cover a new bank of antennas to be installed around the perimeter of the tower. At the same time the cover was not to detract from the original appearance of the Tower. Various elements had to be considered in the design process, such as ease of installation, maintenance access and environmental impact.

The resulting design incorporates fixed and movable panels and isa very pleasing addition to the original structure, which was installed with a minimum of delay or antenna down time recorded.

HOMEBUSH BAY SHROUDS - NSW, AUSTRALIA

In 1999 construction was well under way on a multitude of buildings in and around Sydney in preparation for the upcoming 2000 Sydney Olympics. Television, radio, and Satellite broadcasting facilities were among the growing list of items to be addressed, as were new accommodation units that were accessible to athletes, spectators and the world media representatives.

The Homebush Bay Hotel was one of those facilities that was being built adjacent to the new Olympic sporting venue, Stadium Australia. It is a 19 story building of tilt panel construction, oval in shape, in keeping with the athletic track theme.

Because of its close proximity to the athletic venue, planners saw the opportunity to install R/F antennas on the roof of the new Hotel, but because of the growing public awareness of environmental issues, the project Architects had to be assured that the screens hiding the antennas were in keeping with the buildings exterior appearance, both in shape and texture.

This difficult project was taken in hand by The Sanderson Group, who consulted with the project Architects, Engineers and builders to produce panels that were not only easy to install, but that complied with all the very strict criteria agreed to in the design process. The result is an installation that is not only more than acceptable to the eye, but matches perfectly the buildings contours and finishes, whilst still enabling complete equipment operation and accessability.

UNITING CHURCH SHROUDS - Ashburton - VIC, AUSTRALIA

The Sanderson Group was approached to provide input into disguising a new network installation on top of an existing church bell tower at the Uniting Church in the Melbourne suburb of Ashburton.

A Concept design was agreed to, which The Sanderson Group then refined, to produce a finished product that was both practical and visually attractive matching the existing brick construction of the Bell Tower.

The entire unit was transported from our factory to Melbourne, where it was assembled on the ground and lifted in one piece, onto the top of the Tower structure. This unit also included Micro-wave safe fabric windows, which also match the existing brickwork.
